The Dressage Foundation Presents Two Awards at Dressage at Devon

The Dressage Foundation (TDF) is pleased to announce the recipients of two awards at the 2025 Kingsview Partners Dressage at Devon.

The $5,000 Dr. Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Award for U.S.-Bred Horses

This $5,000 award, established by Dr. Barlow Ramsay’s daughter, Barbara Cadwell, in 2024, aims to recognize and promote the excellence of horses bred in the United States by recognizing the top-placing U.S.-bred horse in the CDI Prix St. Georges at Dressage at Devon. This year’s recipient is Lord Ivanhoe (Mine Lord Prince x Escapade), an Irish Sport Horse, who was ridden and owned by Kristen Parris (MD) and bred by Nancy Girzaitis (MD).

Kristen said, “It is a true honor to receive the Dr. Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Award for U.S.-Bred Horses from The Dressage Foundation. Ivan's performance at Dressage at Devon was a proud and unforgettable moment. As a U.S.-bred horse, his success reflects the strength of American breeding and the dedication of everyone who has supported his journey. I’m deeply grateful to The Dressage Foundation for recognizing the promise of U.S.-bred horses and for celebrating the partnerships that bring them to the international stage. This award is a tribute not only to Ivan, but also to the Girzaitis family who bred him, and all our supporters who helped shape his path.”

Nancy said, “It’s incredibly rewarding to see Ivan honored with the Dr. Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Award for U.S.-Bred Horses, presented by The Dressage Foundation. Watching him shine at Dressage at Devon is a proud moment for everyone involved in his journey. As his breeder, I’ve always believed in his potential, and this recognition affirms the strength and promise of American breeding. I’m grateful to Kristen Parris for her outstanding partnership with Ivan and to The Dressage Foundation for celebrating the excellence of U.S.-bred horses in international sport.”

The $2,500 Patsy Albers Award

This $2,500 award, first awarded in 2013 in special remembrance of Patsy, provides financial support for continuing education and training to an FEI-level rider. The award is given to the highest-placing CDI Grand Prix rider who previously represented the U.S. at the North American Youth Championship (NAYC). This year’s recipient is Ben Ebeling (FL), who won the Grand Prix with Bellena, owned by Ann Romney (FL).

This is a prestigious award, and it speaks to the dedication that so many have to our sport and our United States equestrian programs that continue to nurture young professionals like me. Special thanks to the donors for instilling this perpetual award that continues to light the way for riders who have made their way up the sport through NAYC.”
